Troubleshooting and Tips for Tactic3D Football Software (formerly Tactic3D Viewer Football)
Quick troubleshooting
- Player won’t move: If a player doesn’t flash it already has a move defined. Click Erase then the player to remove moves for that player and following steps.
- Can’t select a gesture: Some gestures require minimum step durations (QB throw 1.5s, snap pass 1.2s, kick 1.3s). Increase step length or create a new step before assigning the gesture.
- Unable to orient a player: If recording hasn’t started, right-click and drag to rotate. If recording exists, draw a very short move to set orientation.
- Saving / file location: Click the Save button. Files are stored under:
- Windows: My Documents/Tactic3D/tactics
- macOS: ~/Library/Tactic3D/tactics (Library is hidden by default)
- Sharing issues: Ensure you and recipients have matching licenses and the Tactic3DViewer app installed (PC, Mac, iOS, Android). Use the product’s Share feature (requires subscription).
Tips for smoother use
- Control speed: When drawing a move, drag farther to increase the player’s speed within the program limits.
- Create gestures automatically: Right-click a player and choose a gesture — the software will create an appropriately timed step.
- Edit without losing later steps: Use the Erase button selectively (per player) to avoid removing other players’ moves.
- Manage hidden files on macOS: Reveal the Library folder (Finder View options or hold Option) to access saved tactics.
- Use tutorials: Follow the built-in video tutorials (button/function guides, drawing passes, gestures, timing, saving/sharing) for task-specific demos.
Common gotchas
- Minimum gesture times prevent assigning complex actions to very short steps.
- Files are locked to license compatibility—sharing with different-license users will fail.
- Some UI elements require right-click/context-menu usage rather than left-click.
